Coverage and program

Interim coverage

A senior practitioner fills your coordinator role while it would otherwise sit empty: through a leave, a vacancy, or a surge in caseload. The obligations do not pause while a position is posted, so we carry intake, supportive measures, and the record until your permanent arrangement is in place.

How an engagement starts

  1. 01
Scoping conversationWe look at the caseload, the open matters, and how long cover is likely to be needed, and tell you plainly what the seat has to hold.
  2. 02
Written termsSeat level, defined obligations, reporting line, and a flat monthly retainer, all in writing before we begin.
  3. 03
Standing upSystem access, background screening, and mandatory reporting obligations in place, and your community told who holds the seat and how to reach them.

When to call

When institutions engage us

  • 01

    A leave

The coordinator is on leave, planned or not, and the matters on their desk still have deadlines.

  • 02

    A vacancy

The coordinator has left and the search will take months. We carry the portfolio until a permanent hire is in place.

  • 03

    A surge

Volume has outrun the people available to handle it. We take a defined share of the caseload so nothing waits.

  • 04

    A conflict

The person who would normally cover is too close to a matter, a party, or a department to hold it.

The coverage

What the coverage holds

  • Intake and initial assessment

Every report acknowledged, assessed, and routed on a documented timeline, with the options explained plainly.

  • Supportive measures

Individualized measures offered, implemented, and recorded, including the reasoning behind each decision.

  • Open matters

Each file reviewed at handover, with a status report on every open matter within the first weeks.

  • Reporting to leadership

A written picture of what is open, what moved, what is at risk, and what needs a decision from you.

  • Process oversight

Grievance procedures run as written, with notice, timelines, and the separation between roles kept intact.

  • Handover back

A documented handover to the permanent coordinator, and a briefing when they start, so the institution does not lose the process along with the person.

Worth knowing

How it is priced

Interim coverage is held as a fractional seat and priced on the published retainer schedule for that seat and sector. Our standard terms allow termination for convenience on 60 days' notice, or 30 days for monthly flat-fee work, which is how cover ends when your permanent coordinator starts.

Questions

Questions we get

All questions
How quickly can you start?

Once terms are signed, handover of open matters typically begins within days. Tell us at scoping if you are working against a deadline.

Which seats can you cover?

Title IX, ADA and Section 504, Title VII and EEO, civil rights compliance, and in higher education, Clery. The seats and rates by sector are on the fractional leadership page.

Will your practitioner apply for the permanent role?

No. Our practitioners are not available for permanent placement. If the arrangement is working, you can extend it instead.

Scoping

Start with a scoping call.

We look at what you have, tell you plainly whether we fit, and put the terms in writing before anything begins.

Trust, operationalized

Work with us

Engagements begin with a scoping conversation. We look at the portfolio you are carrying, the exposure you are managing, and the seat you need covered, then we tell you plainly whether we are the right firm for it.
